IP scramble

Postby lopezgreat » Sat Sep 05, 2009 4:03 am

one of the reason i use Ad muncher, apart from the excellent filtering function, is the presence of the small, handy proxy function IP scramble

so it saves me space to install another proxy programme

but it's so sad that it will not be available in the future release

i sincerely hope that IP scramble could be retained

thx a lot

I just want to bump this back up. I hate to see this feature going, it is extremely useful and easy to use! (I believe TOR doesn't quite compete with the ease of use) If anything just stop taking the time to update the proxy lists but leave the feature in, I use it daily!

Tell me, why would you want to replace a service that works and works well (i.e., the Admuncher IP scramble function) with one that does not work? (i.e., Tor). Tor does not hide your IP, most everyone who has used it agrees. Go read the Tor reviews at Download.com: nobody likes it, everyone says it doesn't work, reviewers there gave it maybe one star out of a possible five. When I used it and checked my IP at a few IP check sites, it was not hiding my IP even though it said it was working. In a word, tor is torrible.

Definitely keep IP scramble. Being in Australia soon to have a China style internet filter, it's invaluable. TOR doesn't cut it for simplicity or ability. Having a number of licenses we would like to continue our support for Admuncher software development. But in a country implementing a draconian filtering scheme that goes beyond even China's, the function is too valuable for us to upgrade. Of course the proxy list will need to be updated. Having the feature without working proxies is of no use. Please retain it and we will be happy to renew our licenses into the future. It is this deciding feature that sets your software apart from other ad block utilities.
