Ad Muncher Browser Extensions

The Ad Muncher browser extensions allow you to right-click on an advert in your favorite browser to remove or report it. They also allow you to quickly exclude certain pages from filtering.

Note that you must have Ad Muncher installed and filtering your connections for the extensions to work. If you do not currently have Ad Muncher you can download it here.

The browser extensions for Internet Explorer and Opera will be installed automatically by Ad Muncher. To install the extensions for Firefox, Mozilla or Netscape please follow the instructions below.


Firefox

Installation:
  1. Ensure that you are using the latest version of Firefox as available from here.
  2. Open the page you are on (this page) in Firefox if you are not already using it.
  3. Click here and follow the prompts.
  4. If Firefox displays a message like "To protect your computer, Firefox prevented this site (www.admuncher.com) from installing software on your computer", then:

    1. Click the "Edit Options" button on the message that appears.
    2. Enter "www.admuncher.com" into the box labelled "Address of web site".
    3. Click the "Allow" button.
    4. Click the "OK" button.
    5. Click here and follow the prompts.

  5. Restart your browser to complete the installation.
Removal:
  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Click the "Tools" menu, then "Extensions".
  3. Find "Ad Muncher Browser Extensions" in the window that appears and left-click on it.
  4. Click the "Uninstall" button and follow the prompts.
  5. Restart your browser to complete the removal.

Mozilla

Installation:
  1. Ensure that you are using the latest version of Mozilla as available from here.
  2. Open the page you are on (this page) in Mozilla if you are not already using it.
  3. Click here and follow the prompts.
  4. Restart your browser to complete the installation.
Removal:

The Mozilla browser does not currently have any satisfactory uninstall facilities. Until they get around to implementing them (like Firefox and Netscape have done) you can manually remove the Ad Muncher browser extensions by following the instructions here.


Netscape

Installation:
  1. Ensure that you are using the latest version of Netscape as available from here.
  2. Open Netscape.
  3. Click the "Tools" menu, then "Options".
  4. Click the "Site Controls" section on the left.
  5. Click the "Trust Preferences" tab.
  6. Enable the "Do Not Use Netscape Trust Ratings" checkbox.
  7. Set the "Always use this setting as a default" option to "I'm Not Sure".
  8. Click the "Site List" tab.
  9. Click the "I'm Not Sure" entry in the "Master Settings" list.
  10. Enable the "Firefox" checbox in the "Rendering Engine" groupbox (in lower-right corner).
  11. Click the "OK" button.
  12. Open the page you are on (this page) in Mozilla.
  13. Click here and follow the prompts.
  14. Restart your browser to complete the installation.
Removal:
  1. Open Netscape.
  2. Click the "Tools" menu, then "Extensions".
  3. Find "Ad Muncher Browser Extensions" in the window that appears and left-click on it.
  4. Click the "Uninstall" button and follow the prompts.
  5. Restart your browser to complete the removal.
